I gotta work on baby boy’s tails-in-motion, but for first crack at it, I’m pretty happy with how he came out!

Miles ‘Tails’ Prower is Team Baby (he’s trying his damnest to grow out of this, but his team mates are adamant that he still allow himself to be the kid that he is—-he’s about fourteen here—-in having been forced to grow up too fast in a world he’s known from day one to be Robotnik’s hellscape) who aspires to be an inventor, though he primarily functions as the team’s Aerial Recon.

He’s the first of Robotnik’s attempts at artificially creating/genetically engineering Mobians (while the Roboticizer is excellent for creating an army of drones/soldiers, it gets costly for a population of several million and a living army of Mobians loyal to him is a much cheaper option and works better for infiltration work into rebel cells) who actually survived the procedure (subjects before him survive for about a week before their bodies gave out) through childhood. He’s as healthy as test subjects come, the only anomaly being his twin tails he learned to use as propellers after studying aircraft landing and taking off in Robotnik’s compound.
Initially he starts off with no name, only a barcode and designation number, but was given one by the scientist working on him (who he sees as his mother and from whom he gets his surname) who eventually helps him escape when he’s about seven, but is killed in the process.

The trauma bluescreens him and he shuts down, which is how a 17-year-old Sonic finds him on the streets, wandering aimlessly and unable to remember his name. (His nickname was given to him by Sonic)

Growing up with Sonic and Bunnie as older siblings has given him a semblance of normalcy in an increasingly bleak world however, and he’ll do anything to help keep his new family safe—-he fears losing them again, which is ridiculous because of course they’re the only family he’s known…. right?

Robotnik’s annoyed by his escape but really, he’s just a useless prototype. Tails’ existence simply proves that the process has been perfected, which means Robotnik can move on with his real aim for the project once his ’pets’ manage to get their hands on one of that damn hedgehog’s quills (which makes Tails and Sonic BOTH spiritually siblings to Shadow)
