The art will be included in the Lost Art Archive—that's the only fitting place for it. However, it’s clear this piece isn’t from 2002. The resolution, pixel count, and file size (2048x1556) indicate it was created sometime in 2020 or later.

The wiki project is a fan-driven effort, and while I aim to keep it as accurate as possible, it’s still a fan-made project. Mistakes can happen, and occasionally, incorrect or misdated pieces may slip in. Nothing in this world is ever truly perfect, so some errors are to be expected.

@Mobian #F77E As much as I hate to say it, the reason this file couldn’t be from 2002 is because of the resolution. Files from that time wouldn’t have been in HD.

It looks like someone might have played a joke on you a while ago. That said, the art is lovely, and I appreciate you sharing it!

Omg, I deleted the file as soon as I uploaded it here because I was cleaning out my pc to give to my niece. I'm so sorry for this >_< I'll check my backups though just to be sure

Cannot find the original source for sure,but i found a possible one on knowyourmeme here: https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1869476-sonic-the-hedgehog

I found a DeviantART user: (oiix0xiio) that seems to match, tho i could not find this art itself on their page, but the username seems to be the same as the one on the image, and the art style seems to match as well

As well, both the knowyourmeme user and the DeviantART user have at least one image in common, so if the knowyourmeme user is not the original artist, they may have been reposting from the DA artist
