At a young age Gerald was already a genius, even without a Gray Power Pattern. While it took him many years, he was eventually able to finish his greatest creation ever, Space Colony ARK. He made this artificial planetoid his home, his lab and much more. He even made his family live there and (when she was old enough) he made his daughter Maria, his assistant. During that time he also wanted to create life without the need of a pregnancy, so he created a cloning chamber and had his daughter get an DNA sample. And while the process looked good at first, they quickly discovered the lack of life in the clone. That was until Gerald got visited by Black Doom, and Gerald knew that Black Dooms DNA could provide life to his creation and just when he was about to ask, Black Doom offered his DNA. And with a handshake and inserting the new DNA, the clone turned from a blond female hedgehog, into a black male hedgehog with a Green Power Pattern. Gerald saw this as an even greater success. He named his creation Shadow, after the color of his fur. And while things where fine, Gerald could feel his mental state slipping, he was slowly going insane. And he had no idea how or why, but with the little sanity he still had, he took his own life, sadly Maria was right behind him, who went with him to the afterlife.
