Shadow's life has always being heavy, as he was created by Gerald Robotnik on Space Colony ARK. Because Gerald tried to create a mobian with a Power Pattern within a lab, without the need for a pregnancy. To get this done Gerald asked for the DNA of Black Doom, a creation from the God of Darkness, Dark Gaia. And while 50% of Shadow's DNA comes from a being of darkness (which also made him immortal), he did had a light in his life, Gerald's daughter & assistant Maria, she gladly took care of Shadow while he was growing up. However that was over 50 years ago, Maria sadly passed away & Shadow now travels the worlds in search of his true self, luckily he was able to team up & befriend both Rouge & Omega.
