Within the Sol Dimension, there is a planetoid called Pirate Island, and while Marine wasn't born there, she sure grew up there as she was kidnapped by pirates as a baby and raised as one of there own. This made her love the ocean, adventures and sailing, made even stronger with her connection to water thanks to her Power Pattern. It was only when her dinghy crashed on the shores of Sol Empire, and she was taken in by Princess Blaze herself, that Marine started to question her life. Sure she tried to rob the palace first, but when Blaze showed the Sol Emeralds and the connection they have to the Power Patterns of Solbius, she realized that her life of looting isn't right, so instead she would sail the Solbius seas, not for looting, but for the adventures.
