As the old saying goes: "Heavy is the head that wears the crown."
Rob hadn't planned on being crowned King so soon; in fact, he was happy in his role as Prince. But, with the disappearance of his father little else could be done but to place him on the throne.

Of course, on the day of his Coronation, no one could have expected an Overlander invasion. A human calling himself "The Baron" a man with dark skin and platinum hair barged into the Castle with the aid of his allies and captured the congregants, including Rob himself.
His reason for doing this? Well, as he explains it, Mobians or (as he refers to them) "little beasts" make easy targets, and taking land from and enslaving them is much easier to accomplish than if he were to try and do the same amongst his own kind.

Unfortunately, the Baron (his name being Afhelm Warthaw) had a bad experience with Mobians as a lad and has greatly resented them ever since. As a result, he does not view Mobians as beings of equal status and despise anyone who allows them to "act above their station." In fact, wanting to get back at them in his own twisted way has led the Baron into developing an appetite FOR them.
He eats Mobians on the daily, and this is part of the reason for his invasion of Rob's kingdom — he is in need of fresh meat.
Worst of all, the Baron possesses the Misfit Diamond — a powerful gem that is ever changing shape and providing a variant power to match.
If Rob cannot defeat the Overlanders, Mercia may be doomed…
