" Mustang Sally" suggests itself, i have seen a few images about that longer ago than i'd like to think about.

Great art, btw.

Mushroom Hill Zone was going to be The Great Forrest, but SoJ insisted on the stupid mushrooms.
Also the giant tree Sonic runs spiral-up in in STH3 is an asset from The Great Forest.
