I recently met a nice fan of my work, who in particular liked my Sonic pictures. It made me think about how I’ve struggled in the past to make a Sonic piece that would appeal to the 6-year-old version of me, so I worked on this!

Classic Sonic and classic Tails. Look at Tails! How did they manage to screwup his cuteness?! I wanted to capture the essence of old Sonic games through the bright colours, the blue Sega sky and the classic style characters.

I guess it’s also a tribute to the 20th Anniversary Sonic game, Sonic Generations. Which in my opinion is the best thing Sonic has done in the past 15 years. It’s tough being a Sonic fan.
