But here's a thought I have regarding dark Sonic. I don't think we'll ever get to see this version of him in the games, and it has to do with the mandates on this character.

I actually understand why SEGA does this, since Sonic is supposed to be bring happiness to us/his friends, and having a dark character ark like Shadow, doesn't make sense for him to have; especially now. One of the rules that SEGA has for him, is that Sonic should never cry. I get that, since it's kind of distracting to see, but also doesn't make sense for his character.

I know Sonic does cry, but only off-screen. But the reason why I think we'll never get to see dark Sonic, is because he has no reason to become like this. He has overcome the most impossible odds and shown us time and time again that everything is gonna be alright. He believes in himself and is strong enough not to give into the darkness.

So, it just doesn't make sense for him to become dark. The only reason he can become this way, is if: 1. His friends like Tails and Amy die because of Eggman. Or 2. His hidden turmoil that will make him turn dark.

He's supposed to be the fasted, the best, the one who saves the day. But what if he fails? What if he loses because he wasn't…fast enough? he wasn't good enough? And everything he has learned and believed up till this point are giving him doubts? What if there is someone better than him, that will upstage the blue blur, and win? His ego will rise, and try to be better than everyone else, to protect everyone.

I think that this will be a logical reason for Sonic to turn dark. We saw how good he was at hidding his pain from the cyver corruption. Perhaps he's hidding his turmoil deep inside so that his friends will never doubt all the wisdom he told them.

Enjoy!
