Let me tell you something. I have been a sonic fan and a sonic-inspired beginner artist since the age of 12.

To me, Tails was the true hero, for he had the skills and the brains, and Sonic was to me a mere show-off, putting Tails aside like nothing but a sidekick, the blue blur's a bit of a jerk to be honnest. As a character, I didn't like him. As a symbol, though, that's a completely different subject.

Today, most of the stuff I see concerning the so-called "sonic" artists, is neon fan characters looking like serial copies,with big boobs and big fugly snouts (lol we all know where that comes from and yes I'm tired of this lack of creativity : o ) and some poor designs. Or at the opposite, uber sparkly details and craploads of nonsense wings/horns/superpowers/halos/a dozen mixed-breeds (you got some kind of result such as angel-pinku striped-wildcat-arctic-fox superhybrid of epicfail),etc., killing one's eyes.

I mean, it sure sounds conservative, but I remember having real artists as models to look up to, such as ~JayAxer or~Shu-Silver, you know, people who knew their subject .
Sonic characters are so over-drawn nowadays, I don't even see the point anymore of making new ones, plus it's a fucking efficient way to be popular on dA, it seems. Yes, your so-called skills aren't much here; you better draw popular shit to get your name hung to the Hall of Fame.
Or it seems like some ppl aren't able to create simple YET effective characters. U-u

Enough flaming, since that's not the point.
I just wanted to draw some old-school Tails, with PENCILS (ohmahgah that stills EXISTS ?!) because I suck at computer arts.
I just killed my already sore wrist, jeez arthritis so young must be a curse)
