I was deeply inspired by the support I got on my Sonic movie poster edit. I couldn’t believe so many people liked it, especially enough for it to have an article about it and to be featured in a Pyrocynical video! Cry forever


So, I decided to do more Sonic cast redesigns!


I guess this counts as yet another AU/alternate universe XD I decided to make this AU a mixture of past AUs in a way. For instance, this universe has the same origin story as the "SatAM AU" I created a couple years ago:

In the age of advancing technology and dying nature, a team of scientists began capturing animals to perform experiments in a secret project called "Project Mobius" with the goal of making them more advanced and adaptable; overall more "human". In this way, they hoped, the non-human animals could live among humans and their changing world instead of vanishing for good. Eventually, the Mobians were created. They were considered a kingdom of animal all their own, standing on the border of human and nonhuman being thanks to their advanced minds and nearly human-like bodies; though they still shared much in common with their feral ancestors.
Unfortunately, other experiments made disasters. Monsters, uncontrollable demons, escaped and terrorized the world. Eventually, surviving human populations sent themselves into space in search of a new planet, leaving the Mobians to evolve on their own while nature reclaimed the world and the monsters continued to thrive.
Some Mobians moved into the ruins of human cities, while others roamed the earth and began their own societies. In any case, the world has made big changes since the humans left it behind; some more unique and unexpected than others.

** An idea I recently had for the "monsters" is that perhaps they're characters like Black Doom and the Black Arms, along with maybe Mephiles and the other strange monsters we've seen in past Sonic games.

** In this AU, Eggman is called Robotnik though it referred to as "Eggman" by Mobians as an insult. He is [likely] the last remaining human and has a goal of reclaiming the world using robots, aiming to wipe out the Mobians and monsters or find a way to use them to his advantage. Capturing Mobians to turn them into biological batteries and cyborgs have been parts of his experiments.

** I decided to give everyone clothes this time! I feel that the Sonic cast could really benefit from being clothed, as it can make a bigger statement about their personalities, occupations, and the world they live in. I just hope I designed them alright, as designing clothes has never been my strong point haha

** Some character changes here are based on old headcanons. For instance, Tails here is female (though a tomboy and still birth-named Miles), and Amy is a hedgechidna (hedgehog/echidna mix). I’m also considering making her Sonic’s little half-sister here, who Sonic is very protective over.
I made Amy’s fur and spines a more natural color or at least tried to XD more “peach”-ish

**As a sort of genetic defect, most Mobians have very sensitive skin on their palms and tend to wear gloves as a result. They wear clothes because they get cold incredibly easily, which is another genetic defect of Mobians.

** I gave Sonic spines that are more reminiscent of his Classic design's but with a little bit more detail haha
