They are definetely not as good as they looked in my head, so please forgive my derp ; I'll try this again in the future with hopefully better results haha.


This is a Sonic AU that takes place on Earth. In this AU, extinction, desertification, and pollution have spread with the advancement of human technologies and unnaturally swift population growth. As a result, in an effort to save nature and its swiftly-vanishing creatures, a team of scientists began to capture animals and perform special experiments on them and their DNA with the goal of making them more intelligent and adaptable. In this way, they hoped, the non-human animals could live among humans and their changing world instead of vanishing for good as many had already done. Eventually, the Mobians were created. They were considered a kingdom of animals that stood mostly in bipedal posture, had round primate-like skulls (with the face/muzzle depending on the species), large eyes, plantigrade and digit-grade feet with four fingers/toes, and human-level intelligence and adaptability. However, other experiments resulted in disasters that spread too fast for humans to take the time to admire these new forms of creatures. Monsters, uncontrollable demons made from man playing god terrorized the world. Eventually, all surviving populations came together and sent themselves into space in search of a new planet to call home, leaving the one they destroyed behind for the Mobians to adapt and struggle to survive. as nature regrows to house and hide the monstrous creatures.

These familiar forest critter characters were redesigned to fit into this AU. They are all mostly "naked" except for a few accessories on some in addition to colorful rings (that, as my best bud MikeDarklighter suggested, store the ring energy they get from collecting rings, restoring vitality, healing wounds or perhaps even producing a shield of varying strengths that use up rings when opposing forces collide into them). I will probably give them more clothing/accessories in the future if people like the idea of this AU, since this AU takes place on Earth where humans left behind a lot of their stuff (which would actually make clothes/jewelry/etc available). The "monsters/demons" described in the derpy description I wrote of this AU work kind of like the Badniks in the original Sonic games as they hold Mobians inside of them and use them as living batteries unless/until they are killed. I had an idea where they are matter-changing and can change from being liquid to solid form, or something like that, but I have no idea. This is all just a bunch of fun that took more time than I originally intended. ;

Instead of robotik parts, Bunnie's legs and arm have piebald. She is a crossbred lop-eared rabbit, which has resulted in one ear being droopy while the other is perked (and the drooped ear cannot perk up). She was honestly the most enjoyable to draw, surprisingly XD

Sally is a chipmunk. I didn't change much of her design besides giving her a more chipmunk-looking face and a longer, fluffier tail as well as a chipped ear. Otherwise, her colors are the same. She is the leader of the group along with Bunnie.

Antoine is the biggest of the group because he is a coyote. Although Mobians vary in size, I thought it would be cool if they were still relatively bigger/smaller than one another depending mostly on their species. Ant won't become giant compared to everyone else, but he'll always be the biggest. Even so, he is the softest and most cautious, despite being one of the only three "carnivores" in the group.
(All Mobians in this AU are omnivores, though those whose ancestors were carnivores require more meat than those whose ancestors were herbivores, and vise versa). He is not necessarily a coward like in SatAM, but he isn't the bravest of the "pack", either. However, he fears more for his comrades than for himself. I'll probably show where he got that scar, later.

Sonic, like Bunnie, has piebald. It is on his face where his "cyclopes eye" would be in the forms he usually appears in (and his tail). Other than his appearance change, Sanic is still Sanic, and he gets amusement out of playing with Antoine's more jumpy side by startling him any chance he gets because he's the biggest stinker, but he shows his big heart when things are serious.

Tails and Nicole are the youngest of the group and nothing much change about their designs I don't think? I mean, besides the obvious XD
Nicole was trapped inside a Monster before it was killed (by who, no one knows) and Tails discovered her and brought her back to the group, where everyone (Tails especially) has done their part to help her recover. She is weak and sickly, but is improving thanks to the support and encouragement she gets. Tails is very protective over her and prefers to stay by her side.

I'll write better descriptions for everyone later, but the debate has been on and I can barely hear myself think hahaha

I also had an idea where each character has a job depending on their species. Sonic and Bunnie are burrowing creatures so they are responsible for digging. Antoine and Tails, being canines, are trackers (they help sense danger and look for food), Sally is the leader and also the guardian. She is the only one who can climb trees to be the best lookout. Nicole's job, for now, is to stay alive XD But she'll be something special in the future I'm sure.

1. You forgot Rotor?
I didn't forget him. I purposely didn't include him because he is a walrus and walruses do not live in forests or any dry land. Even in anthro form I'd find it a bit bizzarre for a walrus to live in foresty or desert-like areas that lack large bodies of water. ;

2. Why didn't you give Sonic green eyes?
Sonic has green eyes, here. The blue hue I gave to the overall image makes things look more blueish than they originally are, though. I also still don't see why eye color is so important to the Sonic fanbase ;

3. Is Tails male or female here?
In all Sonic universes (including all of my AUs), Tails is always/has always been biologically female to me due to my headcanon, so Tails is female in this AU, too with the only difference being that there are no super-complicated societies on this Earth or gender role issues, so a Mobian's sex is determined by reproductive organs and not by anything else since there is no gender identity. For this reason, Tails isn't referred to with masculine pronouns.

4. Isn't Nicole supposed to be an adult and not a child?
This is an AU (alternate universe) which means a lot of things about characters and the world they're in are not like the way they are in the games and/or comics.
